Beginning fall semester 2018, Bachelor of Social Work graduates who want a Master of Social Work degree can have it all. The University of Georgia School of Social Work has made the Advanced Standing (ADST) option available as an extended time program at its Gwinnett campus. This program is the first of its kind in Georgia, allowing BSW graduates to jump into the practice world while at the same time earning an MSW in two years.

The School recognizes the growing need for well-trained clinical social workers in the greater Atlanta area. Many BSWs who are already in the field have family or other commitments that prevent them from attending day classes in the Athens full-time ADST program. The 40-credit evening and weekend extended time option begins in the summer of 2018, with students completing seven credits in the summer.

Below is a program of study for prospective students. For more information, see Advanced Standing Status.
