Curriculum Vitae

Yolanda Machado-Escudero’s research interests are primarily focused on intersections of inequality, race and ethnicity among Latino immigrant communities and health care disparities. ┬áHer post MSW practice includes facilitating community action initiatives; social service delivery for families in poverty; advocacy and support services for organizations working with homeless populations people with disabilities; mental health patients; incarcerated women; and children in foster care. Other practice settings include medical social work services at rehabilitation and long-term care facilities and community health centers. More recently, Machado-Escudero joined a local community initiative that identifies economic, social and other supports and resources for Latino families facing the fear and consequences of deportation.
