Stephen McGarity

Stephen McGarity received his BA in history from the University of North Carolina at Asheville and his MSW from the University of Georgia in 2011. Most recently, he worked as a senior support coordinator for Georgia Options, a nonprofit that assists adults with developmental disabilities, and presently serves on the agency’s Human Rights Committee. McGarity also served on the Board of Directors for The Bigger Vision, a community shelter for homeless individuals in the Athens area. His research interests include social policy, program evaluation, poverty, and adults with developmental disabilities. He currently teaches an integrative seminar for BSW seniors..
