Sherinah Saasa, received her MSW from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Her work experience post MSW has included individual and family therapy, mental health evaluations, program development, and intake assessments for hospitals providing outpatient and inpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment. Saasa is also the director of a non-profit organization based in Zambia that focuses on educational access and social development of orphans in kinship care. Her research interests include orphans and vulnerable children, adolescent HIV/AIDS risk, education inequality, and youth development. Sherinah’s research interests also include the wellbeing of African immigrants in the United States.
