Curriculum Vitae

Xiaochuan Wang received her BSW from Fudan University in China (2008), and her MSW from the Washington University in St. Louis (2010) with concentrations in Social and Economic Development (SED) and gerontology. Since college, Wang actively participated in various nonprofit organizations in Shanghai, China and St. Louis, MO, providing social services to the people in need, especially the elderly, foreign-born and poor. With the hope of being a researcher and educator, she joined the Ph.D. program in Social Work at the University of Georgia in 2012. Her research interests include racial/ethnic mental health disparities and service underutilization, productive aging, end-of-life issues and culturally sensitive services, program evaluation, and quantitative research methods. Wang is also interested in applying Geographical Information System (GIS) to social capital and health research.
