Zoe Minor Johnson

As director of field education, Zoe Johnson oversees the placement of approximately 450 Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work students each year, in compliance with Council on Social Work Education standards for field education.

A licensed clinical social worker, Johnson has three years of post-graduate practice experience in individual and family counseling. Johnson spent over ten years working in higher education, most recently as director of Multicultural Services and Programs at the University of Georgia. During her four years in the latter unit, she received a number of awards, including the Outstanding Campus Collaboration Award from the UGA Department of Student Affairs and being named Advisor of the Year by the UGA chapter of the NAACP. Her scholarship most recently includes an examination of how prestigious research universities address the challenge of creating cultures of inclusion for African-American males.

Johnson is a doctoral candidate in the UGA College of Education Department Counseling and Human Development Services.
