The Information Technology Service Unit (ITS) at the School of Social Work plays a significant role in developing and supporting a technology rich experience for the School of Social Work. Numerous IT initiatives have been successfully accomplished over the past few years due to strategic planning efforts. This year's plan groups goals by key categories which will give ITS focus and formulate the ITS TAPS (Training, Access, Polices/Procedures, Service/Support) Initiative.

Functions and services of the ITS unit:

Client Support and Service - client support and consulting, installation / configuration of hardware and software, troubleshooting, purchasing, training
Web/Database Development - web development/delivery, web site maintenance, administrative database development, resource management
Classroom Media/Instructional Support and Service - integration of technology in the classroom, WebCT, video library, management of labs - computer and video taping labs
Network Service - network/server management, wireless and internet support, PDAs

Information Technology Services (ITS) consists of a team of professionals who are located on the 3rd floor of Tucker Hall.

We focus on IT leadership, service, and strategy which will support and enhance the School’s instructional, research, and learning activities. Our goal is to inspire students and educators toward continuous improvement in IT literacy and promote technology as an essential tool for accomplishing goals which align with the overall mission and vision of the School.

Lab consultants are scheduled at varying times during the day to help with questions in the labs and can be found at the main desk in the SOC computer lab. For individual consultations and special project requests, please schedule an appointment.
