MSW Admissions
At the University of Georgia School of Social Work, we take pride in our diverse, dedicated, motivated MSW students. We look for students with strong academic backgrounds, who also have a personal and professional commitment to the values of the social work profession.
Applying to the MSW program is a two-step process.
You must apply to the UGA Graduate School and to the UGA School of Social Work. Visit the web site of the Graduate School to view their requirements, deadlines, and fees. You can submit your Graduate School application online

For admission to the full-time, part-time and advanced standing programs (fall semester), the deadline to submit your complete application to the School of Social Work is April 30. International students should apply by February 1.
Applications are considered complete, when the following items are received in the School of Social Work, 105 Tucker Hall, The University of Georgia, Athens, GA 30602-7016:
- MSW application form—found in the Application for Admissions booklet
- Narrative Statement—directions are found on page 4 of the application form found in the Application for Admissions booklet
- Your resume—including details of your work experience in human service and other settings
- Three letters of recommendation—forms found in the Application for Admissions booklet
