 Useful information for international students

Things to keep in mind before coming to Athens:

  • There is no public transportation available from the Atlanta airport to Athens. However, there is a van system called AAA. $40/Person, one way. Children under 10 ride free per paying Adult.

  • Although free for students, public transportation in Athens is scarce. It is very important to choose accommodation close to campus. Bicycles are a good option only if you get to live near the university, otherwise, you will find Athens is too hilly for long rides.

  • These are some of the resources available in the university: various campus eateries, access to computers in different parts on campus, a university health center, sports fields, etc.

  • Books can be very expensive to buy. However, you can find second-hand alternatives. Alternatively, you can borrow textbooks from the libraries on campus and from other universities in Georgia for free.
