Graduates of the MSW/JD program are prepared for careers as social service administrators, juvenile court representatives, family court judicial personnel, mediators, public policy officials, guardian ad litems, family law attorneys and child support enforcement administrators. Students will participate in both legal and social work internships.
This interdisciplinary program allows students who follow the structured MSW/JD program of study to obtain graduate degrees in both social work and law in four academic years, rather than the five years needed if pursued separately. Those interested must be admitted to both schools independently.
