Eddie Glikin and Lisa Anger

Like many people practicing social distancing during the pandemic, Lisa Anger and her fiancé, percussionist Eddie Glikin, have been spending more time in the kitchen. Anger, a licensed clinical social worker, runs a private holistic psychotherapy practice and teaches family therapy and other courses at the School of Social Work. When she noticed that out-of-work musician friends also were doing more meal preparation at home, she saw an opportunity to help.

The pair pitched the idea of a recipe collection to friends in the music community to assist a local nonprofit. The result, The Athens Quarantined Musicians’ Cookbook, contains more than 40 recipes, plus photos and contributor biographies. All proceeds from the 105-page booklet go to Nuçi’s Space, a mental health and resource center for musicians.

“The idea to have it [be] a Nuçi Space fundraiser was a no brainer,” said Anger, “since both Eddie and I had close ties with Nuçi’s, him as a musician who has both been helped by them and has done a lot of fundraising for them, and for me, a former board member and a mental health professional here in Athens.”
