Katherine Gower received her BA in Psychology from the University of Vermont in 2011, and entered the field of social work in 2014 to pursue her MSW. She has completed and contributed to numerous research projects as a research assistant for the Texas School Safety Center, a legislative intern at Vote Smart, and a policy intern at the Texas Criminal Justice Coalition. After graduating with her MSW in 2016, she worked with Feeding Texas to assist with an evaluative study on SNAP assistance. Katherine’s longtime interests are in social justice and grassroots activism. Her main research interests are environmental justice, food justice and insecurity, policy advocacy, and dialogue and narratives surrounding social justice issues.
