“I am invested in the advocacy and the importance of awareness around issues that impact communities of color to influence policy. My passion is to see the education and empowerment of people that will spark engagement and result in the implementation of better policy at the state and local level for equitable resolutions.
“I am a proponent of using research-based solutions to influence change. Using a policy lens, my work centers on mental health, ACES, black maternal health and criminal legal system reform. I have written and presented research findings and data to state, county, and local representatives to impact change throughout the country.
“My practice experience includes lobbying, strategic advocacy planning, the development of community-specific projects, leadership of collaborative teams, critical analysis and assessments and capacity-building.
“A UGA alumna and an experienced lobbyist with a background in general and civil mediation, I know from personal experience how the skills I developed at the School of Social Work can help future graduates, whether they wish to empower individuals or entire communities.”
