As director of field education, Zoe Johnson oversees the placement of approximately 450 Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work students each year, in compliance with Council on Social Work Education standards for field education.
A licensed clinical social worker, Johnson has three years of post-graduate practice experience in individual and family counseling. Johnson spent over ten years working in higher education administration supporting students with disability access in the University of Georgia’s Disability Resource Center, maintaining community covenants in the Office of Student Conduct, and most recently engaged in social justice education as director of UGA’s Multicultural Services and Programs. During her four years in the latter unit, she received a number of awards, including the Outstanding Campus Collaboration Award from the UGA Division of Student Affairs and Advisor of the Year by the UGA chapter of the NAACP. Her scholarship focuses on African-American students and social support in predominantly white institutional environments.
