Miya C. Tate is a public health professional and social worker dedicated to addressing health disparities among marginalized populations. With a Master of Public Health from LSU Health Sciences Center and a Master of Social Work from Louisiana State University, Miya’s experience spans research, program coordination, and direct service in various health and social service settings. She has contributed to projects on youth violence prevention, analyzed cancer incidence data at the Louisiana Tumor Registry, and served as a Medical Social Work Fellow at Ochsner Medical Center. Miya’s research focuses on health disparities, LGBTQ+ health, minority stress, and gerontology, which she has presented at national conferences. Currently, she is a Program Coordinator at Tulane University’s School of Social Work, managing projects focused on improving health outcomes for people with HIV. Miya likes to play video games and watch sports in their free time.
