Joel Izlar’s work centers on anti-authoritarian, ecosocial community work; mutual aid; and social ecology. Deeply committed to confronting all forms of domination and violence—whether against humans or the natural world—his practice reflects a holistic, social ecological justice-driven approach to community organization and development. Izlar’s research explores how ecosocial communities operate as concurrent forms organization, direct services, direct action, mutual aid, protest, and lived social policy.
