Zach Cooper, LCSW is a PhD student at the University of Georgia School of Social Work. Zach’s research interests include the provision of equitable, whole-person healthcare via integrated behavioral health. Specifically, he is interested in researching healthcare models that incorporate psychosocial-spiritual determinants within traditional healthcare settings. Zach is also interested in health equity and the implications of social justice within integrated behavioral health settings. Last, Zach is interested in implementation science identifying which interventions work best within integrated behavioral health settings. Zach received his MSW at the University of South Carolina and became interested in research as an MSW student. After graduating with an MSW and becoming licensed, Zach started an integrated behavioral health program within a primary healthcare clinic. While working as a manager of an integrated behavioral health program and as an LCSW, Zach began identifying research questions and working with faculty mentors to publish papers on integrated behavioral healthcare, spiritual health integration, and health equity. He currently has multiple publications related to his research interests of integrated behavioral health and has presented locally and nationally regarding integrated behavioral health.
