Joy Green’s (she/her) research merges infrapolitics, arts-based qualitative inquiry, and Black queer feminism to envision possibilities for liberated futures amidst structural uncertainty. Her current work explores the practices of resistance and refusal employed by Black people of marginalized genders (MaGes) and Black queer communities in the U.S Deep South.

Joy’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Social Work with a concentration in Integrative Clinical Practice and Community Development. She has professional experience within workforce development, sexual assault advocacy, and healthcare. She has also worked as an anti-bias trainer and facilitator. Joy is passionate about contributing to scholarly activism as an educator, researcher, and cultural worker.
