Dr. Lee Phillips is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Georgia with over 20 years of experience as a clinician and educator. A licensed clinical social worker, he specializes in trauma treatment, medical social work, and psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families. He has worked extensively in dialysis and chronic illness care, and currently maintains a private outpatient practice.

Dr. Phillips teaches across the clinical curriculum, including assessment and psychopathology, advanced practice, trauma, and field education. Known for his warm, relational teaching style, he emphasizes critical thinking, reflection, and the integration of clinical theory and real-world practice. He was named the 2022–2023 Part-time MSW Teacher of the Year for the Athens campus.

He holds a PhD and MSW from the University of Georgia and a BS in Psychology from Emmanuel College.
