Dr. Robinson-Dooley is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Georgia and an Associate Professor of Social Work at Simmons University (Boston, MA). Her direct practice (therapist) experience includes individual and family therapy, group work, and assessments. She has also worked in the areas of domestic violence, program development, and community organizing. Dr. Robinson-Dooley’s research includes factors surrounding chronic disease, behavioral health, and ​self-management with African American men. She is a Co-Investigator on a multi-year $700,000 federal NIH grant with colleagues at Kennesaw State University, studying self-management of chronic disease and behavioral health with African American men and developing a peer-led curriculum. Dr. Robinson-Dooley teaches doctoral courses on “teaching”, is an advocate of UDL (Universal Design for Learning) principles and technology use in the classroom. She also teaches masters level courses on advanced clinical practice, family therapy, clinical practice with groups and policy. She has published her work extensively in journals and presented nationally on various topics related to her teaching, practice, and research.
