Anna M. Cody is an Assistant Research Scientist for the African Programming and Research Initiative to End Slavery (APRIES) at the Center on Human Trafficking Research & Outreach (CenHTRO) in the School of Social Work at University of Georgia. Her role at APRIES is to conduct and facilitate qualitative research. She specializes in qualitative and mixed methods, community-engaged research. She has expertise in a variety of qualitative methodologies including: team-based template analysis, thematic analysis, constructivist grounded theory, ethnographic methods, qualitative comparative analysis, content analysis, and policy analysis. Anna has a passion for strengthening team-based qualitative methodologies used for research involving large-scale qualitative data and for enhancing impacts on policy and practice through actionable translation of qualitative research findings.
Cody’s primary research areas are children’s rights, children’s well-being and children’s experiences of trauma and violence. She has conducted research on children’s experiences of intimate partner violence, child maltreatment, survivors’ experiences of human trafficking for sex and labor exploitation and youth engagement in child-serving systems.
