There are many types of financial aid available to BSW students. Some aid is granted on the basis of scholastic merit. Other awards are based on financial need. It is also possible to receive a combination of awards based on need, scholastic merit, or in conjunction with student loans or Federal Work-Study.

School of Social Work Financial Assistance
Student Emergency Fund
The fund supports one-time financial assistance to enrolled students facing temporary hardship related to an emergency situation such as an unexpected housing expense, car repair, medical bills, death of a family member, natural disaster or other unforeseen circumstances. James D. Horne Memorial Scholarship
Established in 1995 in memory of University friend Jim Horne, this scholarship provides financial assistance to undergraduate or graduate students, with preference given to students interested in working with the homeless population.
Heather Christina Wright Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship
Established in November 1994 in memory of a former student of the School who died from cancer in her final year of study. Provides financial assistance to a BSW student, with preference given to students demonstrating financial need and the desire to work with cancer patients and their families.
