Tuition Information

Tuition rates and student fees may change each year. Tuition rates and payments are handled by the UGA Bursar’s Office. Tuition is paid at the start of each semester.

Please use the Estimated Cost Calculator on the Bursar’s Office website to calculate tuition.

Note: For the E-Rate line item within the calculator only the Online MSW program is an E-Rate program.

Potential additional costs include:

  • Textbooks
  • Exam proctoring fees
  • Technology upgrades
  • Housing
  • Travel to/from practicum sites
  • Parking Fee not included. Athens Campus School of Social Work parking (lot N12, Blue Zone) is $150 per Fall/Spring semester, and $60 per Summer semester. Gwinnett Campus has free parking.

Funding Opportunities

There are many types of funding assistance available to MSW students, including departmental, institutional, state and federal aid, and external sources. Additional information can be found on the Graduate School’s funding webpage.

Social Work students may be able to fund their degree through a variety of sources and are encouraged to explore their options prior to submitting an application. Note: The School of Social Work does not automatically apply for funding on behalf of MSW applicants.
